I published the first post on this blog. I was eight, and I was so excited to have a blog after watching my mom and dad have so much fun on theirs. But never in a million years would I have imagined that The Magic Violinist could grow like this! And for that, I have to thank my readers--friends, family, old, and new--for sticking with me and helping to make TMV what it is now. :) I'm so glad to have met so many people through blogging!
I thought it'd be fun to celebrate TMV's anniversary with a game! I'll post six questions below that will test your knowledge about yours truly (hi!), and you can post your answers in a comment. The person who correctly answers all six gets virtual chocolate!
Are you ready? Go!
1. What is my favorite book series?
2. What is my real (full) name?
3. I regularly contribute to three blogs (besides my own). What are the names of those blogs?
4. What kind of pet do I have and what is her/her name?
5. Can you name at least three books/book series that would rank in my top ten favorite books list (besides the obvious one)?
6. And finally, I've cried while reading a lot of books, but I've sobbed with two. Which two books were they? (Bonus points if you can guess the top two TV shows that had episodes that did the same thing to me.)
Also, if you don't mind, comment and tell me what your top three favorite posts are from this past year! :) I always appreciate feedback, and this'll help me know what kinds of posts to do in the future.
Thanks again! :) I'm looking forward to the upcoming years!
WARNING: Several people have already put in their answers to the questions and I've responded telling them if they were right or not. If you want to play the game, don't look until after you've guessed!

Six Years Ago Today . . .
Labels:
blog anniversary,
The Magic Violinist
I am 21-year-old author, actress, daydreamer, voracious reader, introvert, klutz, fangirl, and overuser of tape. I love the impossible (which might explain my obsessions with YA novels) but I dip into the real world . . . occasionally. I’m a big fan of dogs, Broadway musicals, and bittersweet endings. When I'm not hunched over a laptop writing a new story, you can find me onstage in whatever theatrical production I've allowed to take over my life. I am a contributor to the “Fauxpocalypse” anthology and the author of “Instructions for Flight” and “Ghost Light,” both collections of poetry. You can follow me on Twitter and Instagram at @KateIFoley.

Anyway. The questions.

2. Yup.
3. Two out of three!
4. Yes.
5. *nods* Yup, yup, yup.
6. Ding ding ding!
You almost got them all right. Half a virtual chocolate bar for you! ;)
@nevillegirl Thank you! Yeah, my mom got me into it really early. :) And I'm glad she did!
1. Yes!
2. Yup!
3. Ha ha, your answer just made me realize that there are four, not three. XD But technically you're correct!
4. Yup.
5. Correct!
6. The TV shows are right, and the books are sooo close.
But overall, great job! :)
Erm...not sure how good I'll do since we "met" just a lil while ago but I'll do my best. :)
1. HARRY POTTER
2. Kate I. Foley. Not really sure what the 'I' stands for....Imogen? Irmahild? (Ok, sorry. I'm obviously very tired XD)
3. I only know The Book Chewers. Oops.
4. Is it a dog? I might remember a dog. Honestly, no clue here.
5. Um...TFIOS, Fangirl/Eleanor & Park (my phone just tried to put Noah there....okay, phone. Why?), and Cress ( or maybe I should guess the whole series just to be safe).
6. Allegiant and TFIOS?
Well. I think I slaughtered that. *brushes hands off*
Congrats on the blogoversary!!! (That is how you say that, right?)
Congrats on your blogiversary! That is a major accomplishment! There are many people far older and more experienced than you who don't have the tenacity (or the talent) to stick with a blog for so long. :-)
I'm not going to guess at the questions, because I peeked at all of the answers, haha. I did get about half of them right, though, as I did the little quiz in my own mind.
As for future blog posts: I like your book reviews, and I like your interviews and explorations of your characters and what you're writing. And your "Top 10 favorites" type lists are always very creative. :)
1. Harry Potter, although I'd say the Divergent series would be right up there, too.
2. Legally, it is Kate Foley (after The Taming of the Shrew), but you'd like to change it to Kate Isabel Foley.
3. The Write Practice, hmmm, the Notebook Sisters, and I can't remember the last one, sorry.
4. A little white dog named Scout!
5. The Divergent series, Narnia, hmmm
6. The Fault in our Stars, Wonder?
TV: Gilmore Girls, definitely. Dr. Who? I heard that when the last Doctor left, many people cried.
@Skylar
1. Yes!
2. Correct! :) The I actually stands for Isabel.
3. He he, well TBC is one of the correct answers. ;)
4. Yup! A dog named Scout.
5. Yes, yes, yes!
6. Ha ha, you got both right! :)
Thank you! :) Yeah, I've heard it pronounced different ways, but that is how you say it.
@storytellergirlgrace
Thank you so much! :) And thank you for your input for blog posts. I'll be sure to keep those in mind.
@seventytwofishes
1. You're right!
2. Wow, nice! You've had the most specific answer so far. ;)
3. The Write Practice is correct, but I don't write for the Notebook Sisters.
4. Yup! :)
5. Divergent yes, Narnia no.
6. You got the TV shows right! :) And TFIOS is correct, but Wonder wasn't the other one (though I did cry with that one, too).
Happy blogaversary! I'm so proud of you! (And I'm so behind on commenting on your posts!)
I want virtual chocolate, so here goes:
1. Harry Potter
2. Kate (Isabel) Foley
3. The Write Practice, Positive Writer, and The Book Chewers
4. Our adorable Scout! Cutest dog in the world.
5. Hunger Games, Eleanor & Park, The Fault in our Stars
6. The Fault in our Stars and Allegiant (Bonus: Gilmore Girls and Doctor Who)
Honestly, and not because I'm biased, I love all your posts. I think it's a nice variety of stuff - book reviews, character interviews, posts about writing, etc. I like learning more about you - so those posts are especially fun for me. LOVE your blog and love you!
@Boquinha You got them all right! :) No surprises there, though, since you and Daddy were my first readers. Enjoy your virtual chocolate!
Thanks! :) Seems like book reviews and character interviews are very popular. *makes mental note*
At this point I'm way too late to answer any of the questions, and I did not mean to wait *3 MONTHS* to comment. Congratulations on six years plus of great blogging. I'm really proud of you. It's fun to see the progression of your posts, too.
@Dr. Mark Ha ha, better late than never right? ;) Thank you! I always have tons of fun doing it.
