February Wrap-Up

Books I Read

3.5/5

I liked this play better than the last one I read for my monologue research. The characters were all distinct and interacted in a realistic way, so it was easy to read without getting too lost. I was able to predict where things were headed a lot of the time, but overall, I liked it! Lots of female representation.

4/5

I enjoyed this play a lot. It kept me engaged the entire time. The dialogue was so realistic, I heard every character in my head as separate people. It also played with time in a very "This Is Us" kind of way that let me put the pieces of the puzzle together as I read without it being so overwhelming I got confused and gave up. I'd love to see it performed sometime.

4/5

I read this because it's in the running for one of the fall plays next semester, and it was so much fun! It took fairytales and twisted them in unique ways I've never seen before, not to mention it includes lesbians too. It would be a really imaginative play to stage and fun to watch. It was a little hard to follow at first, but once you got past the first scene, it was easier to understand.

Movies I Watched

LOL, you have nooo time for movies when you're in school and in a musical that rehearses for 30 hours a week.

Quotes I Wrote

Nothing new here, but I have been working on scripts for my summer musical theatre camps for kids, so that's been a lot of fun!

Obsessions I Acquired

None this month!

Pictures of the Month

I'm not sure what I did to make him laugh, but I'm so glad I captured it like this!
TJ turned 18 and made an "I 💓 Josh" shirt to prove that he's his #1 fan  😂
Josh was amazing in "Almost, Maine!" I loved the whole show!

Claire and I got marshmallows as part of the Founders' Day event
Muffie made an appearance at rehearsal!
My "Directed Entrance" project for class was a success! I set up the classroom like a sports game, bear mascot and all.

Emma and I went to a crop top party, aka our first ever college party. It was fun for the first 45 minutes: I had a Sprite, I danced with my friends while we were all still sober, and I went back to the dorms after the noise was too overstimulating 😂
We escaped the room for Lizzie's birthday party!

Post-rehearsal cast outing!
I took some photos at rehearsals for social media marketing and this one came out the best

Valentine's Day girls' night!
Had the best Valentine's Day weekend with Josh!

Octopus balls = the most delicious thing I've ever eaten

Vagina Monologues! They were so good (and funny)!

The next night we spent the whole day lazing around and watching "Supernatural" (with chocolate strawberry ice cream)

We couldn't let the weekend end without taking a goofy selfie
Dr. Brodie had me take headshots of the cast and I'm really pleased with how they turned out! It was a ton of fun. These are just a few of the ones I took.

My parents sent me a super sweet Valentine's Day package

We didn't end up wearing these wigs in the show, but it was pretty fun to be blonde again for a second 😂
Cast dinner during tech

And now for a slew of photos with castmates, directors, and friends who saw the show!

Josh stayed for the weekend to see the show!

Josh drew my own cruise pamphlet like the ones my character (Missy Hart) had in the show. It's gorgeous!
