A Poem For My Dad

A while back on Mother's Day I wrote a poem for my mom. I saw it yesterday and realized I hadn't done one for my dad yet. Perfect timing! Here it is.

This is a poem I wrote for you.
You can read it when you're happy and sad,
Cheerful and blue.
You're funny and helpful,
Loving and smart.
You are a dad who is close to my heart.
And this is a poem where I want to say,
Have a wonderful Father's Day!

I love you, Daddy! :D

  5. I saw your post on "Positive Writing" and I just had to stop by and tell you how awesome it is that you're a writer and that you're blogging about your journey! I started writing when I was in the sixth grade (a long time ago!) and if the Internet had been around then, I know for sure that I would have had a blog, too! My daughter is also 13 and she loves to write. I will have her check out your blog.

    Keep on writing and dreaming!

  10. This is so late but I had to stop and tell you that one of my favorite things about being a dad to daughters is to have your daughters get older and still call you daddy.

    Sweet poem.

  11. @Jimmy Thanks. :) I still call my dad Daddy and I'm not sure I'd ever want to switch!
