Top 15 Favorite Doctor Who Quotes

So this was originally going to be a "Top 10" post, because that's a nice, even number that are often used in "Top XYZ" posts. But then it stretched into twelve, so I thought, okay, that'll work because there are twelve Doctors. Then it just kept getting longer, so I made it fifteen for 2015. Basically what I'm trying to say is that there are just too many good Doctor Who quotes to possibly include them all! After lots of consideration, I finally narrowed it down to my absolute favorites, but it doesn't even scratch the surface.

(Plus, this post gave me a chance to mess around with photo editing, which I always enjoy! I think putting the images together took longer than actually picking the quotes . . . maybe.)

Tenth Doctor, "Doomsday"
Eleventh Doctor, "The Big Bang"

Eleventh Doctor, "The Pandorica Opens"
Eleventh Doctor, "The Power of Three"
Amy Pond, "The Girl Who Waited"

Ninth Doctor, "Rose"
Eleventh Doctor, "Vincent and the Doctor"
Tenth Doctor, "The Lazarus Experiment."
Tenth Doctor, "Fear Her"
Eleventh Doctor, "The Almost People"
Rose Tyler, "The Parting of the Ways"
Eleventh Doctor, "A Christmas Carol"
Twelfth Doctor, "Listen"
Eleventh Doctor, "The Time of the Doctor"
Eleventh Doctor, "Official BBC Series 5 Trailer"

  1. Some of my favorites:

“One day, I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine. Goodbye, my dear.”

    -First Doctor

"There’s no point in being grown up if you can’t be childish sometimes.”

    -Fourth Doctor

    And my all-time favorite...

“There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, and the sea’s asleep, and the rivers dream; people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there’s danger, somewhere there’s injustice, and somewhere else the tea’s getting cold. Come on, Ace. We’ve got work to do.”

    -Seventh Doctor

  2. Oh god... So many quotes, and I haven't finish all of the episodes yet! Well, one of my favorites is,
"How about next time you get a dictionary, look up genocide, you'll see a little picture of me there with a caption saying, 'OVER MY DEAD BODY!'"

  3. Nice pictures!

I've seen that Amy Pond one and didn't know it was a Dr. Who quote! It's one of the ones in our frame. :) I like the one about scared being a superpower, too. And I like Nevillegirl's one from the 4th doctor.

  4. Oh... How can I choose?!? They're all so amazing, but there are a couple that I just reference a lot in daily conversation...

"Wibbly Wobbly Time-y Whime-y": These words are probably my most used... adjectives? I think they could qualify as verbs also.

"I AM NOT YOUR MOTHER!" Someone said this to me earlier today and I couldn't stop laughing. The best part was that they didn't even know that it was a Doctor Who Reference!

  5. @nevillegirl

Oh, I've seen that fourth Doctor quote all over the place on Pinterest! I love it. :) The seventh Doctor one is so well-written, too. It reminds me of the RTD era.

@Rich Oh believe me, it took me forever to find my absolute favorites. YES, I LOVE THAT ONE. Ten is the best. :')

@Boquinha Yep, I sent that one over right away when I found a picture of it! I'd always loved it, I figured you would, too. :) The one about scared being a superpower is from one of my favorite episodes of season 8.

@Carly Basically the entirety of the show could be one absurdly long quote, because it's SO GOOD. I love quoting my favorite TV shows in regular conversation. I love it even more when someone gets what I'm saying. xD

Yes, I use wibbly-wobbly all the time! And that's so awesome. Accidental references crack me up.
