I bet you can predict my answer . . . (TCWT Blog Chain)

Which fictional world would you most like to be a part of, and what role do you think you would fulfill within it?

Okay, the first part of the question is easy. I'd want to be at Hogwarts. ;) The second part's a little trickier. I'd be in my third year at Hogwarts, but which extracurricular activities would I be a part of? Which classes would I like to take? Which teacher would be my favorite?

I think I'd try to join the Quidditch team. The Ravenclaw one, of course, since that's what house I'd be in. I'd probably try out for Chaser, since I don't have the attention for detail required to be a Seeker, the aggressiveness to be a Beater, or the reflexes to be a Keeper. But I am pretty fast (though I'm not sure how that translates on a broomstick) and I do have good aim.

I'd also join the D.A. if Harry were still at Hogwarts. Everyone who joined really liked it, and hey, it's a chance to meet Harry Potter. ;) (And Ron and Hermione).

My favorite classes would probably be Charms, Care of Magical Creatures, and Potions (if Snape were nicer, because potions sounds like an interesting class). My favorite teachers would be Hagrid, of course, and Professor Flitwick, because he sounds like fun.

Your turn to answer the question! ;) Leave a comment!

Updates From MV:

I'm thinking about doing a blog meme by answering the questions in the vlog. Thoughts? Tips? (I've never done one before--I should really be asking John Green on how best to do it).

I completed NaNoWriMo! :D On day 30 before noon (I set my alarm to get up early and finish it). I still have plenty of story to go, though. ;) Did you finish?

Loving this blog.

(If you have something you'd like me to share in "Updates From MV" please send me an e-mail at themagicviolinist(AT)gmail(DOT)com. Thank you! :D)

Oooh, this is weird when you think about it, because in a lot of books the worlds are full of corruption and you wouldn't want to go there! But I think I would go to Narnia! As for what part to play, I think I'd be content to be surrounded by the talking animals, but I would want to live among the Pevensies somehow. And marry King Edmund perhaps <3

Yay! I'm going to do the Hogwaverse (Hogwarts universe? I've never used that word before :P), too, mainly because, whilst I love fictional worlds as they are, I find it quite hard to fit into one specifically. I guess I empathise with real world (I was going to say contemporary, but then I realised that I read a lot of Agatha Christie and would love to have met her 20s - 50s characters) characters more.

Wahey, Quidditch! I can't say for broom-Quidditch, and, of course, it depends on the team one's against, but chasers do need a good sprint and endurance. On our team, the people who are more inclined towards beating are those who prefer not to be running most of the time. (Hmm, that describes me...so maybe it's not accurate, but it's hard to explain.)

Alex :)

Great post. Hogwarts is, I'm sure, the destination of choice for many readers, but one can easily see why-- it's a pretty magical place.

I like your ideas. Flitwick certainly does sound fun — although Hagrid, though wonderful, seems better as a friend than as a teacher to me. I think I, too, would like to be a chaser, because I, too, have decent speed but not enough aggressiveness, reflex or attention to detail to fulfil the other roles quite so well.

*nodnod* I'd love to be part of Harry's world, but I'm almost too old for Hogwarts. :/

I think I'd go to Hogwarts as well. I can't think of any other fictional worlds that would be safe enough or fun enough to entice me.

Since I'm a little old to be a student wizard I guess I would need to pick some "adult" role. Maybe I'd be a teacher, or wait! Quidditch coach. Yes. I'd draw upon my previous experience as a high school Quidditch player to push the students at Hogwarts to new heights. I was a Keeper, by the way. I was pretty good.

@Karoline Definitely! Though I love The Hunger Games and Divergent, I can't think of anyone who'd want to live there. (Talking animals are awesome. Seriously.)

@Alex Love the word "Hogwaverse". ;)

I'd love to play "real life" Quidditch sometime. Maybe I can get my homeschool group into it.

@Liam Thanks! :) If I weren't homeschooled, I'd definitely be at Hogwarts.

@kerastheunknown Very true about Hagrid. I'd probably spend all of my free time in his hut, pretending to eat rock cakes and playing with Fang. ;) (I can empathize with the attention to detail thing. A lot of writers have it. I, on the other hand, am known as the oblivious and slightly ADD friend.)

@nevillegirl That's just so sad. :( Maybe you could work for the Ministry of Magic. (Post Fudge and Scrimgeour, of course).

@Dr. Mark Ooh, yes! :D I could definitely see you as a Quidditch coach!

Yay for Hogwarts! That was one I picked. Though I forgot to make myself my own age...I'd be in my seventh year, but I thought I'd like to be the herbology professor. (Also, yay for being homeschooled!)

@Lily J. I think being a professor would be fun! :D I'd definitely apply for a job after graduating.

Hmmmm. I think I'd say Hogwarts. Maybe I could be head of Ravenclaw House!
